Rolled ring forging is a metalworking technique that starts with a circular, preformed metal piece that is upset and pierced to create a shape resembling a doughnut. This doughnut-shaped piece (torus) is then heated to a temperature above its recrystallization point and placed onto a mandrel or idler.
